BaseBoard® ISA

The BaseBoard® is a full size ISA card that provides flexible, programmable digital input/output for the ISA computer. The card features four 40 position pin header connectors that provide 96 Digital I/O connections. The header connectors accept ribbon cables for direct connection to external equipment, or to screw terminals. A unique bracket design allows all the cables to exit from the single slot while providing strain-relief. A family of optional Modules can be installed directly on the BaseBoard® / ISA to enhance its capabilities by providing up to 5000v of optical isolation; over-voltage protection; the ability to monitor / control high-voltage signals; Analog-to-Digital Conversion and Digital-to-Analog Conversion

Modules

Modules install directly on the BaseBoard® and provides special features such as optical isolation, over-voltage protection, increased voltage handling, and increased electrical current sinking. The BaseBoard® modules incorporate Scientific Solutions PowerTag technology that allows software to automatically identify and configure the module.

Screw Terminals and Cables

Ribbon cables and Screw Terminals provide a convenient method to connect to the BaseBoard® Digital I/O connections.  Use 40 position cables and terminals to connect directly to the BaseBoard® or if using the Hand-Shake Module.  Use 50 position cables and terminals if using the Opto Modules.

Solid-State-Relay (SSR)

Digital I/O signals from the computer are typically TTL type of signals. This means that they are 5v logic and can typically source/sink current in the 15 to 64ma range. If you need to control or sense higher voltage signals (example 60v DC or 120v/240v AC) and/or higher current signals (example 3 Amps instead of 64ma), then a solution could be to use Solid-State-Relays (SSR).

The SSR come in 4 flavors (which are also made in different colors to help distinguish them).
